Sexy, powerful, and immortal, Limos is on a crash course with destiny. She’s been marked as Satan’s bride and her jealous fiancĂ© wants her all to himself. The only way this Horseman can keep herself—and everyone else—safe is to keep her distance. But not even Limos can save herself from the secrets she’s kept . . . or resist the seductive allure of one very brave human.

Arik Wagner knows the saying “love hurts” better than most, yet he never thought stealing a kiss from Limos would land him in Hell. Literally. It takes all his military training to survive the demon torture, but once he’s topside, Arik realizes that the agony has just begun. With the Apocalypse looming and Satan demanding his bride, will Arik and Limos surrender to the desire smoldering between them? Or will giving in to their passion unleash hell on earth?

My Thoughts

Larissa Ione is on her way of creating another fantastic UF/Paranormal Romance series with Lords of Deliverance.
This installment sealed the deal for me, and puts this series in my auto-buy column.
When Arik dares to answer a flirtatious approach and advance from Limos (one the fourth Horseman Of the Apocalypse)  and  passionately kisses her, his world comes crumbling down and immediately  finds himself in hell, yes in hell… both literally and figuratively.
Limos is the bride to be of the dark Lord (Satan). You can see why things might get complicated. And they  do when she embarks on the mission to rescuing him.
This provides the setting for the gripping action, darkness, suspense, romance, sensuality (hot) and the kick ass battles of good versus evil that we have come to love so much from Ms. Ione’s brilliant imagination. Ah! And don’t let me forget the humor that completes this fabulous, engrossing experience.
The world building was impressive! As Ms. Ione puts the pieces together for this new world she seamlessly weaves the Demonica’s characters that I have come to love, and I’m always thrilled to read/listen to about, this why I would recommend reading or listening to the Demonica series before you start Lords of Deliverance, it will only enhance your enjoyment.
I love Arik and Limos together, again they are flawed in just the right way, I felt they complemented each other well enough to make their story believable and gratifying. But what has spiked my curiosity and anticipation is the developing relationship between the secondary characters Thanatos and Regan, I have to say the ground has been laid for a phenomenal romance, and I’m more than looking forward to it.
All in all, this was an excellent entry to the series, and I highly recommend it as a whole to anyone that loves  paranormal romance or urban fantasy books.

Narration
Once again, Hillary Huber delivers Ms.Ione’s creation with perfection, excellent play of emotions, pace and tone. She certainly knows how to bring this world and its characters as well as its sensuality to life.
Limos was given the perfect tone that beautifully communicated her character, exposing all her personality traits in a remarkably well balance manner. Limos never sounded whiny or annoying which could easily have happened with the wrong approach.
Arik’s voice conveyed the masculinity and confidence that gave his character the credibility and authority to make it another enjoyable romance listen from Ms. Huber.
The same care was given to all secondary characters with truly distinctive voices for all.
In conclusion, this was a remarkably accurate portrayal of this story and characters.

  2. Oh Carmel, I'm so glad you didn't read this one yet, your experience is going to be so much better when you get to Lord of Deliverance. I'm also glad you're enjoying the Demonica series, I can't believe I put the first book down a couple times, but my friend insisted that it was good, I'm so glad I picked it up again. I loved re-reading it via audio too.

  3. Oh, wow! I bet listening to this book was off the chain. It floored me just reading it. Great review, and is it killing you to wait for Than's book? I mean his plot turn just blew me away. We need to do a book discussion when the next one comes out.
