The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to ward off Doomsday . . . or let it ride.

Jillian Cardiff came to this remote mountain town to forget the demon attack that almost killed her. Instead, she rescues - and falls for - a gorgeous stranger who has no memory of anything other than his name. Handsome, charming and protective, Reseph seems like the kind of man that Jillian can trust. But with hints of a troubling history of his own, he's also the kind of man that can be very dangerous . . .

Reseph may not know his background, or why he mysteriously appeared in Jillian's life, but he knows he wants to stay. Yet when Jillian's neighbours are killed and demon hunters arrive on the scene, Reseph fears that he's putting Jillian in danger. And once it's revealed that Reseph is also Pestilence, the Horseman responsible for ravaging the world with death and destruction, he and Jillian must face the greatest challenge of all: can they forget the horrors of a chilling past to save the future they both desire?

My Thoughts

Without wasting any time, Larissa Ione takes us right where she left off, and this time the task of redeeming the evil Pestilence turns into another engrossing, suspenseful, action packed and all around entertaining passage in the Demoica’s world.
When Reseph is rescued by Jillian (no nonsense and all around, great heroine) he can’t remember how he got there or any of his past, all thanks to the Reaver’s compassion who allowed him to come back to earth after stripping his memory.
On the other hand, Jillian has no idea of how much this naked, gorgeous male she just rescued will change her heart and life forever.
Love strikes, and strikes hard Roseph and Jillian. The demons they both equally carry, and the uphill battle their feeling for each other will have to overcome, makes their romantic story full of suspense and angst - sure to grab your attention.
Is Pestilence really dead? We find out that there are some that want to keep him alive, as well as others that just want Reseph gone forever.
The subplots are as equally as entertaining, and it never takes away from the main couple - I love the way Ms. Ione manages to do that. This time we find out much more about Reaver and Harvester - All I can say is, wow! How can I be feeling sorry for this little bi*ch? But I am, and you will too after you read/listen to this installment, and now I’m rooting for a happy ending for this tortured character.
We finally get to experience the happy- go lucky and funny persona that was buried deep in Pestilence demon.
The chemistry between the main characters is excellent; they are perfectly matched supplying the story with the perfect amount of romance (HOT).
You do not want to miss this one! The final novel in the Four Horses of the apocalypse is another excellent written chapter, guaranteed to provide you with a few solid hours of great entertainment, not to mention the secrets reveled and twist and turns always so enthralling in Ms. Ione’s novels.
This is the 4th installment in this spinoff series, for greater enjoyment I highly recommend reading/listening to these novels in order.
As usual, the next novel will be one of my most anticipating releases of the year.

Narration

After feeling disappointed with the narration of the last installment, Lethal Rider, I was a litle afraid to get this installment on audio, but I was pleasantly surprised by my enjoyment of Erin Bennett’s narration. The improvement is instantly noticeable; I had no problems at all with the distinction of the characters, the tone and manner of delivery immediately transported me to the world, and let me enjoy the story and characters without any distractions.
Her interpretations of the characters were much better. I really enjoyed the way she brought Jillian to life; I got a clear picture of her no-nonsense personality, as well as Reseph inner turmoil.
The angst and suspense were truly conveyed, and it made this entry a much better listening experience.
If you are a fan of audiobooks, I recommend without reservations this installment; you won’t be disappointed.

  1. I'm always interested to read reviews on audio books because it's such a different experience. I have yet to hear any of my favorite romances on audio because I'm afraid I won't like it.

    1. I can understand how you feel, but you won't know until you try it, but if you find out you like them and can enjoy then, you will be so glad for the freedom the allow you to do other things while still listening to the story.
If you do try them, come aback and share your experience.
If you have any question don't hesitate to ask, I'll be happy to help.

    1. I wasn't too crazy about the narration of Lethal Rider, but she did a much better job with this one, the first two books were narrated by Hillary Hubard, and I really liked her.
      Enjoy :)
